TEACHER's SPACE
As we all know, teaching children about climate change is essential for everyone's future. Climate change is a global emergency, and from the school we need to make students aware of this important problem. We need to teach children the importance of the 3 R's. Reduce, recycle, reuse. To work on these topics, we have created a series of applications and activities for students that will consist of different tests and exercises to test them and that they are aware of the problem. We have designed a series of activities for students, using different technological resources. For this reason, it is very important that if you want to do these activities in class, you need tablets and computers available for each student in the class. In these activities, we will use the following applications:
- Quizizz
- Recycle game
- Carbon Footprint Calculator
- Google forms
- Edpuzzle
- Jamboard
- Canva
These are the type of electronic activity that we are going to use in the class and what they are about:
Recycle game: It is a simple game, but at the same time didactic, as it explains where each object goes in a very clear way.
Quizziz: It's an online quiz that can be played in class with the whole class at the same time.
Carbon Footprint Calculator: With this website, children will be able to calculate and see what their ecological footprint is on planet earth.
Google Forms and Excel (Collective statistics): Students will collaboratively record in a shared spreadsheet in Google Forms the results of surveys conducted on a group of people around "Green Habits".
Google Jamboard: Collaborative website, that allows children to work and write at the same time from different devices.
Canva: It is a website that allows you to create posters, presentations, infographics ... in a very simple and intuitive way.
We will work with these apps and websites to do the activities. The main goal will be to seek the involvement of all students to achieve sustainable habits and be aware of the importance of changing some of our daily habits to fight climate change.
